IMG_3822Who says “they don’t make ’em like they used to”? At Archadeck of Central Connecticut, we DO still build outdoor living projects with the care and craftsmanship of bygone days, back when everything was built to last. Our clients have told us that the careful attention to detail and selection of quality materials that go into each project we build make the difference. We call that “the Archadeck difference.” You can see it in every backyard deck, porch, sunroom, patio, and pergola we build. Quality shines through, and it lasts.

Another angle of the design rendering for this Middleex County, CT, project:I’ve been designing and building Archadeck outdoor living structures in Central Connecticut for over 15 years. The design process includes drafting the architectural drawings that guide the construction of each project. Today the drafting process is done by computer, of course. But I have a very special piece of furniture that reminds me of a slower time when each job was drawn by hand. It’s an antique drafting table my father owned and passed down to me. Constructed in the early 1900s, this table is solid oak with an oversized work surface and adjustable iron supports that allow the draftsman to tilt the angle of the tabletop. This drafting table is as beautiful, sturdy and functional today as when it was first crafted over one hundred years ago. The fine materials and precision workmanship that went into this table ensured the piece would serve future generations as well as its original owner.

That’s the way we build outdoor living projects in Central Connecticut today. While we don’t produce architectural drawings by hand now, we do still select the best building materials and follow proven construction techniques to produce sturdy, high-quality custom-designed outdoor living projects. In the words of one satisfied customer:

“Our screened-in porch is now my favorite room in the house. I’m in Connecticut, but I spend time in the porch 10 months a year. It is an absolutely beautiful addition and clearly shows incredible workmanship, quality and concern for the work that Archadeck performs.”
